Product Review-Jane Iredale Zap & Hide Concealer

As I sit here, I am excited to write this review. I am excited because this product took me by surprise.  As an (ahem) thirty -something year old woman, I feel that I should be exempt from needing to “zap” blemishes, and yet, I found myself recently running into the salon to pick up something to deal with the “situation” I had on my chin!  I wanted a simple concealer, but boy did I get more!  I bought Jane Iredale Mineral Make-up Zap & Hide Concealer.  It’s about the size of a large lipstick, and it has 2 sides.  One is a clear side which contains antiseptic and healing botanicals, and the other side is a powerful concealer.  I just put the clear end onto the blemish itself, and then proceeded to conceal as usual in the affected area.  The next day, I kid you not, the blemish lost it’s bite (so to speak).  It wasn’t 100% gone, but it was no longer flared up, and it was on it’s way to disappearing!  I love this stuff!  It is a must try item, and its shelf life will run out before you actually run out of product, I’m sure of it! Jane Iredale Mineral Make-Up has been such a great addition to our store, and every time I try a new product, I just can’t wait to describe it to anyone who will listen!

Zap & Hide Concealer comes in 3 shades; Light, Medium & Dark

How to use Sulfate free & natural haircare lines

Are you among the many who are eager to try all of the natural & sulfate free haircare lines out there?  Currently, on Exclusive Beauty Boutique, we have 4; Moroccan Oil, PureOlogy, Simply Organics & L’Oréal Serie Nature.  Upon first attempt, you might find your hair to be a bit oily after you’ve washed with one of the shampoos from this line.  The difference can feel significant if you are coming from having used more traditional salon brands. I personally found my hair to feel quite a lot of build up & my scalp was itchy after using them.

When I researched the matter, I learned that  you should be shampoo-ing twice.  This may sound wasteful, but it does make a difference, and a little goes a long way.  First use a small amount of shampoo on your scalp, and massage it in well.  After that, wash the remainder of your hair with a slightly larger amount of shampoo. This will strip away all of the residue that is left in your hair from previous days styling.  Don’t worry about the lower amount of lather, that’s just the lack of sulfates in the shampoo.

Once you have completed this, then you can use your masque or conditioner on the ends only.  As is the case with any conditioner, you only really need it to make your hair softer & more comb-able.

The jury is still out for me as to whether I find these kinds of shampoo to be worth the switch, but I have personally used the L’Oréal serie nature line, and even with the shift in method for hair washing, I find the end result to be really good!  I have also used the L’Oréal Serie Nature Creme de Tendresse leave in conditioner on my little ones, and I love it!

Please post your reviews, tips & experiences using these types of all natural solutions!

Sincerely,

EBEditor
