As I sit here, I am excited to write this review. I am excited because this product took me by surprise.  As an (ahem) thirty -something year old woman, I feel that I should be exempt from needing to “zap” blemishes, and yet, I found myself recently running into the salon to pick up something to deal with the “situation” I had on my chin!  I wanted a simple concealer, but boy did I get more!  I bought Jane Iredale Mineral Make-up Zap & Hide Concealer.  It’s about the size of a large lipstick, and it has 2 sides.  One is a clear side which contains antiseptic and healing botanicals, and the other side is a powerful concealer.  I just put the clear end onto the blemish itself, and then proceeded to conceal as usual in the affected area.  The next day, I kid you not, the blemish lost it’s bite (so to speak).  It wasn’t 100% gone, but it was no longer flared up, and it was on it’s way to disappearing!  I love this stuff!  It is a must try item, and its shelf life will run out before you actually run out of product, I’m sure of it! Jane Iredale Mineral Make-Up has been such a great addition to our store, and every time I try a new product, I just can’t wait to describe it to anyone who will listen!

Zap & Hide Concealer comes in 3 shades; Light, Medium & Dark

Here’s an exciting article written by Cait Lafleche, a guest blogger & friend to Exclusive Beauty Boutique!  She writes here own blog at http://caitlinlafleche.wordpress.com/, but check out her candid & hilarious perspective on the beauty staple:

The Staple

Everyone has one.  The item that you can’t leave the house without.  The product that makes love to your face every day (the only holiday it takes is a tired Sunday).  If you had room for only one thing in your clutch before dashing out the door on a Saturday night, there it’d be: Your beauty staple.

Personally, my staple is mascara (with my eyelash curler coming in at a close second).  That wonderful lash transforming tube is the one thing I can’t leave the house without, it saves the day every time.

For example; I’m laying on the couch on a lazy afternoon with no plans to do anything.  Suddenly the phone rings and I’m given a five minute warning that somebody is dropping by.  It doesn’t really matter who it is, I debate whether to ditch the track pants immediately and throw my hair up until I realize that this debating has left me almost out of time.  It’s a mad dash to my makeup bag, and I quickly grab my mascara and take a swipe with that magical wand and I am immediately transformed.  I’m still in my track pants and my cowlick might look slightly ridiculous but that doesn’t matter!  I could be in a bikini in front of thousands of people after eating a tub of Ben & Jerry’s and a Big Mac, and I wouldn’t care because I’ve got my long luscious lashes. (Dramatic, I don’t think so! Exaggeration?  How dare you imply!)

Maybe it’s completely psychological, and you can tell me five million times that I’m beautiful without it (thanks Mom), but for me beauty is about being comfortable and if mascara is what makes me comfortable, then so be it!  I’m not about to preach about being ‘natural’ and ‘inner’ beauty to anyone, because my beauty is all about being happy with myself.

So, now that I’ve spilled about my undying obsession with mascara, what’s your staple?

Great article Cait!  We love mascara too!  Our newest line of mineral make-up, Jane Iredale, has a great one (pictured above)!  Do check it out!
